- The five stages of bodhisattva-(sa) kṣānti, patience or endurance according to the [lang id =1028]別教:(1) [lang id =1028]伏忍the causes of passion and illusion controlled but not finally cut off, the condition of [lang id =1028]十住, [lang id =1028]十行, and [lang id =1028]十廻向;(2) [lang id =1028]信忍 firm belief, i. e. from the [lang id =1028]初地 to the [lang id =1028]三地;(3) [lang id =1028]順忍 patient progress towards the end of all mortality, i. e. [lang id =1028]四地 to [lang id =1028]六地;(4) [lang id =1028]無生忍 patience for full apprehension, of the truth of no rebirth, [lang id =1028]七地 to [lang id =1028]九地; and(5) [lang id =1028]寂滅忍 the patience that leads to complete nirvana, [lang id =1028]十地 to [lang id =1028]妙覺; cf.
